Quiz Night

A great evening was had by all at our first Quiz Night of 2025.  Quiz Master Jamie Vicars did a brilliant job, not only dealing with the questions and answers but keeping us all very amused with his witty banter! Thanks to everyone who supported the night and a big shout out to Gareth Findlay for preparing all the questions and answers.  The winners were the ‘Silver wings’ by half a point from the ‘Tabletops’!

From L to R: Allan and Mary Carle & Gordon and Eileen Robertson AKA 'Silver Wings'
From L to R: Anthea and Deryck Deane & Andy and Val McHoul AKA 'The Tabletops'

Try Bowls day

Blairgowrie Bowling Club held their Try Bowls day on Sunday 4th May. The weather stayed fine, it was extremely well attended, everyone enjoyed themselves and it turned out to be a very successful morning for the club.  If you were unable to attend and still wish to try bowls you can call into the club on a Monday afternoon between 2pm and 3pm and Friday evening from 6pm.  We’d love to see you!

Opening of the Green
On Saturday 12th April we officially opened our green for the 2025 season under a beautiful hot spring day.  A big thank you to our Adrian Trotter’s mother, Margaret, for officially opening the green by throwing the ‘Silver Jack’.

It was great to see such a good turn out of old and new members. We had the traditional “President” v “Vice President” game played in the usual great spirit with the Vice President’s side coming out on top this year.
After the bowling action we had the fantastic music duo of Sandy McCurdy and Eric Wales who travelled all the way from Edinburgh to play for us. A big thank you to both of them who put on a great night of music and entertainment for everyone.
